How to Get Your Verizon Account Number and Transfer PIN

To move a Verizon phone number to another carrier, you normally need your Verizon account number and a Number Transfer PIN.
🔒 Protect your transfer information: Your account number and transfer PIN can be used to move your phone number. Only give them to the carrier you are intentionally switching to. Never send them to TapHelp, an unexpected caller, text sender, or anyone claiming they need to “verify” your account.
Find your Verizon account number
- Sign in to My Verizon and open your account or billing details.
- You can also check your Verizon bill.
Turn off Number Lock first
If Verizon Number Lock is turned on for the line, disable it before trying to port the number.
Get your Number Transfer PIN
From your Verizon phone
- Dial #PORT.
- Verizon will provide a link or guide you to generate the PIN in My Verizon.
My Verizon app or website
- Sign in as the Account Owner or Account Manager.
- Go to the Number Transfer PIN page.
- Select Generate PIN.
Verizon Number Transfer PINs are temporary and are generally valid for 7 days. Keep your Verizon line active until the transfer completes.
