How to Get Your T-Mobile Account Number and Transfer PIN

If you are switching away from T-Mobile, your new carrier normally needs your T-Mobile account number and a Temporary Port Out PIN.
🔒 Protect your transfer information: Your account number and transfer PIN can be used to move your phone number. Only give them to the carrier you are intentionally switching to. Never send them to TapHelp, an unexpected caller, text sender, or anyone claiming they need to “verify” your account.
Find your T-Mobile account number
- Check your T-Mobile bill.
- Or sign in to your T-Mobile account and review the account information.
Get the Temporary Port Out PIN in T-Life
- Open the T-Life app on the T-Mobile phone.
- Use the phone on the T-Mobile cellular network with Wi-Fi turned off. If you use a VPN or iCloud Private Relay, T-Mobile may ask you to temporarily turn it off.
- Tap Account (previously called Manage).
- Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Choose Permission & controls.
- Tap Transfer PIN.
- Complete any verification, tap Create PIN, and write down the temporary PIN shown on screen.
For personal postpaid accounts, only the Primary Account Holder can generate the Temporary Port Out PIN.
Check Port Out Protection
If Port Out Protection is active on the line, it must be turned off before the transfer can complete.
Do not cancel T-Mobile first. Keep the line active until your new carrier confirms the number transfer is complete.
