How to Block Spam Calls

Blocking an unwanted number can stop that number from calling or texting you again. Use this guide for spam calls, robocalls, unwanted calls, scam callers, or blocking a phone number.

On iPhone

1. Open the Phone app.
2. Tap Recents.
3. Find the unwanted number.
4. Tap the information button next to the number.
5. Scroll down and tap Block Caller.
6. Confirm that you want to block the number.

On Android

1. Open the Phone app.
2. Open your recent calls.
3. Tap the unwanted number.
4. Look for Block, Block number, or Report spam.
5. Confirm your choice.

Android menus can vary by phone brand, so the wording may be slightly different.

Good habits for suspicious calls

• Do not give a caller your password, PIN, verification code, or banking information.
• If someone claims to be from a bank or company, hang up and call the official number yourself.
• Do not press buttons or call numbers provided by suspicious recorded messages.

Blocking one number may not stop every spam call because scammers often use different numbers.
