How to Get Your AT&T Account Number and Transfer PIN
✓ Beginner-friendly • AT&T • Switching carriers
If you are leaving AT&T and keeping your phone number, your new carrier will usually ask for your AT&T account number and a Number Transfer PIN. This is also called a port-out PIN or transfer PIN.
🔒 Protect your transfer information: Your account number and transfer PIN can be used to move your phone number. Only give them to the carrier you are intentionally switching to. Never send them to TapHelp, an unexpected caller, text sender, or anyone claiming they need to “verify” your account.
Find your AT&T account number
- Check the top-right area of your AT&T wireless bill.
- Or sign in to your AT&T account and review your wireless account details.
- If you have bundled AT&T services, make sure you use the wireless account number.
Get your Number Transfer PIN
Fastest option: call *PORT
- From your AT&T phone, dial *PORT.
- Follow the prompts.
- Have your AT&T account passcode ready.
- AT&T sends or displays the Number Transfer PIN.

- If Wireless Account Lock is enabled, turn it off before attempting the transfer.
